Annual General Meeting | A panel on the issues of labor shortage in Quebec

Three experts exchanged on their vision of the workforce issues in the clothing industry in Quebec.

Vestechpro was pleased to welcome Chantal Lamoureux, Professional Development and Quality of Practice Director of the Order of Certified Human Resources Advisors (CHRP), Philippe Gagnon, Canada Goose Plant Manager and Catherine Rousseau, Marketing Strategist HR and employee experience at HRM Group, HR Marketing Strategists. Helen Brunet, Project Manager at Vestechpro led this discussion, which revealed the difficulties of the companies but also possible solutions.

Philippe Gagnon mentioned the creation of a training center at the Canada Goose factory, allowing new employees to quickly integrate. In addition, Canada Goose is a springboard for newcomers, who can integrate not only into the company's working methods but also into their new country. The welfare of employees is highlighted and all experts agreed that with the arrival of millenials in the labor market, the issue of the employer brand (HR marketing) became unavoidable.

This exchange ended more informally around bites at the fashion show of the fashion school of Cégep Marie-Victorin.
