Information and communications technology professions are increasingly strategic in the Montreal economy, and women are less and less attracted to these jobs. Let's help awaken interest in the careers of the future among young girls!
As an apparel research and innovation center, Vestechpro has always been committed to making the clothing professions of the future more visible and accessible. In addition to participating in several events for young people such as the Salon Rh Mode, the center is spearheading the development of specific training in Canada in digital fashion and clothing as well as in smart clothing. A notable example is the launch in 2018 of the Vestechpro Summer School. Through the first two editions of this unique program, young women have explored the themes of "Women and Clothing Technologies" and "Fashion and Video Games".
Thus, we are pleased to present Marie-Jade Lucier, a Fashion Design program student at École de mode du Cégep Marie-Victorin and research assistant at Vestechpro, who will act as a guest speaker at the event "Le cirque s'invite à l'événement < Filles & code >", organized by the Mouvement montréalais Les Filles & le code, on November 20th, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m.
This free digital event, produced in collaboration with the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), aims to raise awareness and interest among young girls aged 13 to 16 years old for technological professions through mini-workshops, discovery demos, and inspiring encounters. Marie-Jade will share her multidisciplinary and definitely tech profile!
