Skills developed

At the end of this course, participants will be able to :

• Understand the fundamental principles of AI and the issues it raises,
• Learn about the opportunities offered by AI for fashion and apparel,
• Understand how to use AI tools for fashion product design and development while exercising a critical eye.

What topics will be covered and how?

• History and fundamentals of AI
• AI ethics
• Impacts and challenges (including legal issues with concrete examples) of AI
• AI opportunities and limits for the fashion-clothing value chain
• Hands-on workshops in generative AI (software) for product design and development:
   
  • Generate inspiring moodboards
  • Garment design generation
  • Photorealistic image generation from a sketch
  • AI-assisted print creation
  • Improve the realism of 3D renderings

Speakers
The course will be led by several experts from Vestechpro, CIMMI and a lawyer specializing in fashion law.

Number of participants
15 maximum.

Admission criteria
Be a fashion industry professional involved in product development / apparel product design. 
Maximum of five (5) participants from the same company.

Certificate
A 14-hour Vestechpro training certificate will be issued to participants who complete the training.
*This training is not credited.

• Dates: Dates: June 17 and 25, 2025 (fully booked) - September 3 and 10, 2025 (places available)    
• Times: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Location: near Jean-Talon metro station - Pavillon Bélanger - Cégep Marie-Victorin (767 Rue Bélanger, Montréal, QC H2S 1G7)
• Price: $250 per person (plus taxes)
