When Innovation Brings the Peace Tower to Life!

Last spring, Vestechpro took on a challenge that was unique, to say the least: to design and manufacture a giant costume modeled after the Peace Tower, which MP Éric St-Pierre wore during the Ottawa Half Marathon.

The goal? To promote physical activity and mental health while celebrating public service. To bring this extraordinary idea to life, our team drew on its expertise in product development and apparel technology.

From taking measurements using a body scanner to 3D design, and from manufacturing sports tights to creating a six-foot-tall costume, every step was carefully planned to meet the specific requirements of this sporting event.

In particular, a custom-made harness system was integrated to optimize weight distribution during the event. To take the realism even further, the gargoyles and turrets of the Peace Tower were reproduced using 3D modeling and printing techniques.

The result? A spectacular costume that certainly didn’t go unnoticed along the course and caught the attention of both the media and the public!

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Éric St-Pierre to Vestechpro following his participation in the Montreal Marathon. It was a wonderful opportunity to look back on this collaboration and see, once again, how far we’ve come since the early stages of the project.

A project that perfectly illustrates how innovation, creativity, and technology can bring to life projects that are as unconventional as they are ambitious.
