Vestechpro is raising awareness among future professionals about body digitization and smart clothing.

This fall, Vestechpro opened the doors of its Shared Lab and facilities, giving several students from Cégep Marie-Victorin the opportunity to immerse themselves in innovation applied to apparel design.

Vestechpro was proud to partner with instructor Yan Drapeau to deliver, for the third consecutive year,
the activity “Lab Collab – Body Scanner Use,” a highly anticipated event for second-year students in the Fashion Design program. The session enabled more than thirty students to learn how Vestechpro’s cutting-edge body scanner operates—state-of-the-art equipment that generates a personalized avatar and introduces them to custom virtual prototyping.

I would like to sincerely thank the Vestechpro team for the body-scanning activity offered to our students. They greatly appreciated the experience and were able to integrate their avatars directly into my CAO3 course. This contribution enhanced their learning and added a very concrete dimension to their project.

Yan Drapeau - Fashion Design teacher

I truly enjoyed my experience, and the Vestechpro team was extremely professional!

Developed and organized in collaboration with the School of Fashion, the activity “Shared Lab Workshop – Discovering Connected Clothing” gave about fifteen students from the Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, and Computer Science programs the opportunity to explore and handle examples of connected garments created by both local and international companies.

I loved the experience! It showed me another career path I could explore. I’d also love to come back and see more wearables in the future.

Stanley Moise Paul - Computer Science Technology student

My experience was both informative and interesting. It’s a topic that is rarely discussed but is growing rapidly. I’m glad I had the chance to take part.

This fall, the Centre was also pleased to welcome Félix H. Dextraze, a third-year Fashion Design student, to the team for an internship during which he demonstrated great curiosity and initiative!

In total, more than 45 students from three technical programs at Cégep Marie-Victorin were involved.
