A look back at the 2025 edition of the Summer School – Artificial Intelligence for Fashion and Apparel

For its 4th edition, the Summer School organized by Vestechpro, held from June 2 to 11, 2025 at Cégep Marie-Victorin, aimed to introduce students to the applications of artificial intelligence in the fashion and apparel sector.

A look back at the activity in a few key figures:

  • 36 hours of training
  • 11 passionate students
  • 10 speakers and panelists
  • 3 visits to workshops and organizations across the Montreal area

Training the next generation on today’s pressing issues

Over the course of six days of activities, the speakers helped demystify artificial intelligence, enabling participants to explore its fundamental principles, the challenges it raises, and the opportunities it offers, while also learning how to use it ethically and responsibly.

A diversified learning approach combining conferences, panels and workshop visits

The Summer School offers an interactive learning experience by combining lectures, panel discussions, and company visits.

Guest speakers joined Vestechpro’s team of specialists throughout the program to address various strategies for using AI, as well as the challenges related to its application in the apparel and textile industry.

Several hands-on workshops and practical sessions allowed participants to explore different AI tools for design, product development, sales, and marketing.

A full day was dedicated to visits with organizations and companies that showcased to the group various ways of integrating AI into their operations.

We were fortunate to benefit from the warm welcome and hospitality of École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Lambert, and Suitablee.

Beyond lectures, training sessions, and site visits, students had the opportunity to put their learning into practice through a project.

At a closing networking reception with experts, students presented their projects and shared reflections drawn from the two weeks of training.

The different activities offered throughout the Summer School provided participants with valuable opportunities to reflect on the future of the industry, ask questions, and expand their professional networks.
