On October 26, 2023, Vestechpro's Annual General Meeting was held at the Salon mode Silvi-Chapados at Cégep Marie-Victorin.
It was an opportunity to thank several members of our Board of Directors whose involvement is coming to an end this year:
- Mr. Sylvain Mandeville, formerly General Manager of Cégep Marie-Victorin
- Ms Neila Mezghani, Professor, Researcher at Université TÉLUQ
- Ms Karine Bibeau, Vice-President Customer Experience, Logistik Unicorp
- Ms Nathalie Faille, Teacher and Department Head, Cégep Marie-Victorin
And to welcome new administrators:
- Mr Louis Gendron, General Manager, Cégep Marie-Victorin
- Mehdi Ben Salah, Director of Research, Logistik Unicorp
- Katherine Gervais, Fashion Marketing teacher, Cégep Marie-Victorin
- Karen Tagliani, Vice President Design, Groupe Lamour
Finally, this Assembly was dedicated to our colleague Helen Brunet, who passed away in November 2022.
In tribute to her, Alicia Turgeon, General Manager of Eastern Bloc, unveiled the documentary on the "Fibers and Textiles Co-creation project", in which several members of the Vestechpro team, including Helen Brunet, had taken part.
The project is a collaboration between the Textiles & Materiality research cluster at Milieux Institute (Concordia), Moisaic, the Pôle créativité et innovation at HEC Montréal, Vestechpro and Montreal artists Jacqueline Beaumont and Ryth Kesselring. The project, facilitated by the Eastern Bloc artist-run center and funded by the Ville de Montréal, highlights the potential for collaboration between artists, industry and academia, while exploring the rich history of the Central District as Montreal's garment district.
Partners, customers and colleagues also came together to pay tribute to Helen Brunet.
